Configuring Web Services and Applications
Perform the following procedures to configure Web Services and Applications. Select a tab to configure the applications in either Genesys Administrator or Genesys Administrator Extension.
Creating and Importing Application Templates
The Web Services installation package includes a template for Genesys Generic Server (Web_Services_and_Applications_900), but you must create a new template for Genesys Generic Client.
- To create the Genesys Generic Client template, navigate to PROVISIONING > Environment > Application Template.
- Select New... and configure the properties of the template as shown below:
- Name: GWS_App
- Type: Genesys Generic Client
- Version: 9.0
- State Enabled: Yes
- Click Save & Close.
- To import the Genesys Generic Server template, click Upload Templates in the Tasks panel. The Click 'Add' and choose application template (APD) file to import dialog opens.
- Click Add, and navigate to the templates folder in your installation package.
- Select the Web_Services_and_Applications_900 template file, and click Open.
- Click Save & Close.
Creating GWS Server Application
- Navigate to PROVISIONING > Environment > Application and click New....
- In the General section, configure the properties of the application as shown below:
- Name: GWS9 (You can select any server name. However, ensure use that server name to connect from the GWS client application.)
- Template: Web_Services_and_Applications_900 (Choose the template that was added in the previous step.)
- State: Enabled
- Add the following connections:
- Configuration Server
- SIP Server (if supporting Voice)
- Interaction Server (if supporting Digital)
- Universal Contact Server
- Stat Server
- In the Server Info section, select a Tenant:
- Click Add.
- Select the Environment tenant (or any other tenant you will assign to this application).
- Click OK.
- Select a Host object.
- Add a default Listening port:
- Click Add.
- Enter the application's port (for instance, 7000).
- Click OK.
- Add a "." to the Working Directory, Command Line, and Command Line Arguments fields. These values are mandatory for all applications and must be entered to save the application object. Web Services does not use these values, so the "." is used as a placeholder.
Important
For each connection added, configure the location. In the Advanced tab of Connection Info, in Application parameters, set the region.Creating GWS Client Application
- Navigate to PROVISIONING > Environment > Application and click New... .
- In the General section, configure the properties of the template as shown below:
- Name: GWS_App
- Template: GWS_App
- State: Enabled
- Add the following connection:
- GWS Server application name as described in the previous procedure (GWS9).
- Click Save & Close.
Creating and importing the application templates

- Select New....
- To import the Genesys Generic Server template, click Import Application Template. In the dialog box, browse and select the Application template (APD) file.
- Click Save & Close.
- Click Add, and navigate to the templates folder in your installation package.
- Select the Web_Services_and_Applications_900 template file, and click Open.
- Click Save & Close.
Creating GWS Server Application
- Navigate to CONFIGURATION > Applications > Application and click New....
- In the General section, configure the properties of the application as shown below:
- Name: GWS9 (You can select any server name. However, ensure use that server name to connect from the GWS client application.)
- Template: Web_Services_and_Applications_900 (Choose the template that was added in the previous step.)
- State: Enabled
- Add a "." to the Working Directory, Command Line, and Command Line Arguments fields. These values are mandatory for all applications and must be entered to save the application object. Web Services does not use these values, so the "." is used as a placeholder.
- Select a host object and then select the host from the available hosts by clicking the folder icon.
- Go to Connections on the left menu and add the following (the connections will vary based on the services you need):
- Configuration Server
- SIP Server (if supporting Voice)
- Interaction Server (if supporting Digital)
- Universal Contact Server
- Stat Server
- In the Tenant section on the left pane, select a Tenant:
- Click Add.
- Select the Environment tenant (or any other tenant that is connected with your Configuration Server).
- Click OK.
- Click Ports on the left pane and add a default Listening port.
- Add a default Listening port:
- Click Add.
- Enter the application's port (for instance, 7000).
- Click OK.
- Click Save.
Important

- State: Enabled
- Click Connections in the left pane and add the following connection:
- GWS Server application name as described in the previous procedure. (GWS9)
- Click Save & Close.
